The Dominican bodega culture in New York City traces back to the mid-20th century when Dominican migrants settled in neighborhoods like Washington Heights, Inwood, and the Bronx. Bodega Delights is a Family owned Dominican café with NYC vibes in LA, and our passion project. Growing up in NYC and now residing in LA, we miss the authentic flavors and ambiance of Dominican bodegas. Our passion for opening Bodega Delights stems from a deep desire to fill this void and introduce the vibrant flavors and warm hospitality of Dominican culture to the eclectic mosaic of LA's food scene. This place was so yummy, I needed some comfort food after a night out and the mangu con tres gulpes hit the spot! It's just the right portion. I also tried the Dominican iced cafe con leche, and I'm super impressed. I typically don't drink coffee straight, but this was delectable. I definitely recommend this spot! The owner is also very personable as a fellow east coaster :)
Fantastic food and very nice and courteous owner! The restaurant is in an industrial kitchen "mall" and the restaurant is in K11.
The smoothies are so delicious (try the peach cobbler... amazing!) and light but satisfying. The empanadas tasty, crisp and just heavenly. Get the sampler and get the cheese and the chicken. The beef is good too but the cheese and chicken ones are amazing.
So glad that there is a delicious NYC/East coast fast food restaurant right in LA.
Ordered an Acai Smoothie and Peanut Butter smoothies. Both were made extremely well. GREAT creamy to icy ratio, not overly sweet. Balanced. Also ordered a Chicken empanada that was reminiscent of empanadas I've had in New York/Jersey. Absolutely a must try. Will be trying other foods soon!
